 I would argue that we are past the Funny I Am Fucking Freezing Shirt point of a "few bad eggs spoiling the bunch" on the national scale. I've seen it in small communities that you would expect that behavior from. We have a diverse set of role models for most groups at this point. It depends. In a democracy, the only thing that really matters is public opinion, so I'd say peaceful protests that seek to move communities would be the answer. Every major change we've seen in democracies across the world has come from peaceful protests. If the democracy itself has ceased being a democracy(think Venezuela), then your only real choice is some form of revolution. Typically by inviting the people who hate your government to help you beat them up.

She was top of the totem poll at her school.
